Independent games from Aotearoa New Zealand

Holoware Studio

We make games for the TV, built around the remote in your hand and a screen across the room. One is a calm puzzle to settle into on your own. The other gets the whole room playing on their phones.

Our games

Two games for the TV

Both are made for the big screen first: text you can read from the sofa, every screen reachable with the arrow keys and OK, and nothing that needs a keyboard or a games controller.

Tumblesky key art: three coloured blocks tumbling on a floating stone island in a peach sky.
Block puzzle

A calm block puzzle for one player. Tumble shaped blocks end over end across floating sky islands, and settle each one into a socket that fits only one exact footprint.

Party Night key art: a black wolf's head against a glowing pink moon, with confetti on a deep purple night.
Party game

A free Werewolf game for 5 to 12 people in the same room. The TV is the village square, and each player's phone is their secret role card.

The studio

How we make games

Holoware Studio is one person in New Zealand who designs and builds every part of each game: the rules, the code, the art and the sound. Hollowmere is the village where Party Night's werewolves hunt.

Made for the remote

Every screen works with the arrow keys and OK on a standard TV remote, and with a pointer remote. Text is sized to be read from across the room.

Play comes first

Tumblesky shows its ads between levels only, never during one, and Back always closes them. Party Night has no ads at all.

No accounts

Neither game asks you to sign up, log in or give an email address. We keep only what a game needs to work, and our privacy page says what that is.

Room for every player

Tumblesky has no timers, unlimited undo, reduced motion and high contrast options, and every sound it makes is also shown on screen.

Playing at home

Made for the living room

Our games run on the TV and are played from the sofa. Tumblesky needs nothing more than the TV remote. Party Night turns everyone's phone into a controller, with no app to install.

Both games are free to play. Tumblesky shows a short ad between levels now and then, which one purchase removes, and Party Night has no ads at all.
